Russ Paulen Named President and Chief Operating Officer of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s
WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 3, 2026) — UsAgainstAlzheimer’s today announced the appointment of Russ Paulsen as the organization’s new President, in addition to his position as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
“Russ has been instrumental in expanding UsAgainstAlzheimer’s impact on behalf of patients and caregivers,” said George Vradenburg, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. “His outstanding leadership, tireless advocacy, operational excellence, and coalition building position him to help lead the organization into its next phase of impact. I look forward to working with Russ as we partner in building UsAgainstAlzheimer’s to new levels of growth and impact.”
Paulsen joined UsAgainstAlzheimer’s in 2019. Since that time, he has led a team that grew the organization’s revenue and deepened its patient-centric impact. Projects led by Paulsen include:
- Launching MyBrainGuide, a first-of-its-kind platform that has empowered more than 1 million people with knowledge and resources to take the best next steps in managing their own or a loved one’s brain health;
- Leading research into what matters most to people living with dementia through the Alzheimer's Disease Patient and Caregiver Engagement (AD PACE) Initiative; and
- Creating a broad coalition of patient groups, United for Cures, to protect medical research.
In his role as President and Chief Operating Officer, Paulsen will continue to guide UsAgainstAlzheimer’s strategy across prevention, early detection, treatment access, and policy advocacy.
“I am honored to serve as President and Chief Operating Officer of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s at this pivotal moment in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related dementias,” said Paulsen. “Our collective progress has shown what is possible when patient voices are lifted, and I am energized by the prospect of accelerating breakthroughs, expanding care, and supporting the patient and caregiver community through ongoing advocacy and engagement.”
Paulsen’s career in public service and nonprofit leadership spans more than three decades, including senior roles at the United Way and American Red Cross.
