New On-Demand Courses Train Medical Professionals in Alzheimer’s Risk Reduction
Washington, D.C. - [August 15, 2025] - Healthcare professionals can learn the latest on helping their patients understand and reduce their risk of dementia with a new series of courses from UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. The Brain Health Academy (BHA) registration is now open for the first of six new courses that help healthcare professionals put into practice the growing body of evidence for dementia risk reduction. The program is designed to equip providers with knowledge and tools to promote brain-healthy behaviors using evidence-based strategies in their clinical practice.
“While nobody can guarantee that any individual won’t develop Alzheimer’s, we are empowering providers to help their patients understand and reduce their risk, and even improve cognition," said Russ Paulsen, Chief Operating Officer of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s.
Thanks to the generous support of the Dana Foundation, this year’s cohort of BHA participants will receive a next-level learning experience, including an upgraded learning platform, an interactive discussion board, expanded continuing education offerings, and a new curriculum advisory committee. The curriculum is tailored to physicians, nurses, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, and other clinicians who want to apply the proven effective POINTER findings to real-world settings.
“At the Dana Foundation, we believe that preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals to prioritize brain health is critical for helping people and communities. The Brain Health Academy offers an innovative, accessible model for lifelong learning—one that aligns with our vision of a society that values and invests in brain health for all,” said Dr. Caroline Montojo, President and CEO, Dana Foundation.
Through Rush University Medical Center, each new course is eligible for 1.0 continuing education credit hour, and for the first time ever, BHA is offering Continuing Medical Education (CME) in addition to Continuing Education (CE) credits. BHA 2025 courses are eligible for the following CE credits:
- Continuing Medical Education (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit)
- Continuing Nursing Education (ANCC)
- American Psychological Association (APA)
- Commission on Dietetic Registration (CPEU)
- Association of Social Work Boards (ACE)
- General Continuing Education (CE)
These newly released courses are available for $15 each or as a discounted package of all six for just $75, a savings for healthcare professionals seeking to earn all six available credits. All courses are available on demand.
