UsAgainstAlzheimer's Campaign to Increase Early Alzheimer's Detection in Latino Communities Enters Final Week in El Paso and Phoenix

Washington, D.C. [November 6, 2025] – UsAgainstAlzheimer’s announced today that its early detection awareness campaign in El Paso, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona, is entering its final week of outreach, concluding next Friday, November 15. Launched on September 15 in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, the campaign focused on empowering Hispanic communities, who are 50 percent more likely to develop Alzheimer's compared to non-Hispanic white Americans.

With our campaign set to conclude next week, the results are already impressive. More than 3,800 individuals across both states have engaged with the BrainGuide platform’s questionnaire and resource tools. Notably, our targeted outreach strategy is driving strong impact — with six times more people completing the Spanish-language questionnaire.

“This campaign has been an opportunity to meet families where they are and provide resources that are culturally relevant and accessible,” said Vivian Vasallo, Vice President of Early Detection and Diagnosis at UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. “By breaking through stigma and language barriers, we’re helping families start critical conversations that can change the course of this disease. When communities are equipped with the right tools, earlier detection and better care become possible.”

This initiative marks the first campaign of its kind run by UsAgainstAlzheimer’s. Over the past two months, the campaign has leveraged hyper-local media to reach families directly in their communities:

  • In El Paso, ads and educational messages appeared in El Diario De El Paso, El Paso Times, Spotlight El Paso, and on radio stations KPRR-FM and KTSM-FM.
  • In Phoenix, outreach included placements in the Phoenix New Times and on KOY-AM.

The campaign’s core objective is to drive awareness and utilization of the importance of early detection of Alzheimer’s and to raise awareness of BrainGuide, UsAgainstAlzheimer’s free, confidential tool available in English and Spanish.

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s remains committed to addressing health disparities in Alzheimer’s diagnosis and care, ensuring equal access to treatments and support regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity.
