WASHINGTON — UsAgainstAlzheimer’s released the below statement applauding the FY 2018 budget, which increases funding for Alzheimer’s disease research, one of UsAgainstAlzheimer’s core priorities, for the remainder of the fiscal year:

“President Trump today signed into law the largest increase of federal funding for Alzheimer’s disease research in history. This $414 million increase brings the total funding for Alzheimer’s disease to $1.8 billion. We would like to thank the President and Congress for demonstrating their commitment to helping the nearly six million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease, as well as their loved ones, their caregivers, and their communities. With their support, we are closer than ever to addressing the Alzheimer’s challenge, and our work to find a cure continues.

“As Congress begins work to construct Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) appropriations bills, we urge them to ensure continued momentum toward the National Alzheimer’s Plan goals and demonstrate leadership and commitment to advancing science, care, and support.”
