About the Role of the Vice President for Early Detection
UsA2 seeks a creative, agile leader to lead and manage our efforts to change a health system that fails to diagnose people with Alzheimer’s and related dementias about half of the time—and detects disease later in Black and Latino people.
The Vice President for Early Detection will guide the evolution and execution of an interconnected set of programs and products, including our BrainGuide™ platform. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading small teams, managing vendors, collaboratively designing and then implementing programs that turn inputs into impact, and always putting mission first. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
Program and Product Development, Implementation, and Improvement
⦁ Serve as product leader for BrainGuide™ platform, finding ways to continuously improve and evolve BrainGuide to reach more people, serve them better, and sustain revenue.
⦁ Develop and implement other strategies and initiatives to improve detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias at the earliest stages. These initiatives might include, for example,
⦁ Working with Government Relations to identify and address federal policy issues;
⦁ Building partnerships and coalitions of stakeholders to support policy change, change in clinical practice, and/or other systemic changes; and
⦁ Finding other high-leverage interventions in the health ecosystem.
⦁ Anticipate and track trends and emerging research and successfully evolve our approach accordingly.
⦁ Serve as a member of the program leadership team, collaborating closely with the VP for Prevention and the VP for Health Equity.
⦁ Build/grow relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
⦁ Contribute to a culture of teamwork across the organization.
⦁ Help ensure that the organization embodies its values of diversity, equity, and inclusion—both in how we function and in how we serve.
Fundraising and Programmatic Growth
⦁ Partner with development and communications teams to advance public support.
⦁ Help develop and implement efficient systems for reporting on outcomes and performance to donors and the Board of Directors.
⦁ Progressively responsible roles in one or more organizations that demonstrate a track record of growth and success.
⦁ Previous experience in product management and marketing, preferably including online platforms.
⦁ Demonstrable knowledge of search engine marketing and online advertising.
⦁ Proven ability, willingness, and aptitude to both think strategically and work tactically.
⦁ Demonstrated history of being part of a team, as well as encouraging teamwork and an atmosphere of collaboration and respect among coworkers and partners.
⦁ Creativity in spotting opportunities and discipline to turn the best opportunities into benefits for those we serve.
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Location and Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position. We prefer the role be based in the Washington, D.C., area but can be flexible for exceptional candidates. Salary is commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes 15 vacation days the first year (with subsequent increases), sick leave, standard holidays, a 401k retirement plan with an employer contribution up to 5%, and a choice of medical plans covering all or a portion of health, vision, and dental insurance.
