UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Supports Launch for Newly Formed Patient Advocacy Campaign: “United for Cures”

United for Cures is a collaborative network of patients, families, and patient advocacy organizations dedicated to protecting life-saving biomedical research

Washington, DC (June 27, 2025) – Today, the United for Cures patient advocacy campaign launched its mission to “support the research that has resulted in safe and effective treatments and breakthrough cures.” UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is a lead partner of the campaign. At a time when proposed budget cuts threaten critical Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies, particularly the National Institutes of Health (NIH), United for Cures is mobilizing to educate lawmakers and urge Congress to restore and safeguard funding for biomedical research.

The campaign’s launch was featured in POLITICO Pulse.

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s, issued the following statement:

“Medical research has helped millions survive diseases that were once considered death sentences. From cancer and diabetes to Alzheimer’s, we’ve seen major advances in treatment—and we cannot afford to stall momentum toward breakthrough cures.

“Proposed cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services—especially the National Institutes of Health—would disrupt ongoing research, delay medical breakthroughs, and ultimately cost lives. These cuts must not become law. Congress has the power and the responsibility to protect the research that saves lives.

“UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is proud to support the United for Cures campaign to ensure America’s elected leaders defend and strengthen medical research funding—because lives are on the line, and our role as a global health leader depends on it.”
