UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Teams Up With Filmmakers to Honor Gene Wilder

UsAgainstAlzheimer’s is proud to be an official community partner of the film, "Remembering Gene Wilder," produced by Julie Nimoy and David Knight, and supported by Gene Wilder’s wife, Karen. The documentary details the life of the late Jerome Silberman, known professionally as Gene Wilder, and his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. In addition to revealing affectionate family moments and presenting highlights from Wilder’s successful career in entertainment, the film also seeks to educate patients and caregivers about Alzheimer’s disease. This is a critical and noble mission.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. Unlike many other diseases, which are on the decline due to innovative therapies, Alzheimer’s disease is growing at a rapid rate. There are currently no effective means to prevent, slow or cure Alzheimer’s disease.

Addressing Alzheimer’s disease is urgent, and films like "Remembering Gene Wilder" are important for raising public awareness of the disease and its impacts. The film is expected to air nationally on public television in 2019. We hope you’ll join UsA2 in supporting this exciting new film project!
