Welcome

ABOUT US
ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s (CA2) is a diverse, multifaith national network of ordained clergy working to focus our nation’s attention on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

MISSION
The mission of ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s is to promote dignity, compassionate care and quality of life for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, and to provide support for families and caregivers, as we work together to STOP Alzheimer’s by 2020.

PURPOSE
ClergyAgainstAlzheimer’s continues the rich legacy of clergy as agents of social change. We believe that Alzheimer’s disease presents a moral imperative at a scale commensurate to the grave and growing threat it presents to our nation. This network harnesses the powerful and ardent voices of men and women of faith to call for urgent action to advance the goals of better care, improved treatment, prevention and ultimately a cure.

We work together to remove the stigma of dementia and promote the intrinsic value and worth of the individual, regardless of physical or cognitive impairments.

We recognize and call attention to the fact that dementia impacts not just the individual with the diagnosis, but the entire family, and must be addressed in this context.

We educate lawmakers and our communities about the prevalence of this disease, its cruel burden on individuals and their families, and the resulting emotional, physical and financial costs to families and to our nation as a whole.

We urge lawmakers to increase current level of Alzheimer's research funding at the National Institutes of Health in FY 2015 with the ultimate goal of allocating $2 billion annually, the amount deemed necessary by leading Alzheimer’s researchers to achieve significant progress in treating, preventing and curing Alzheimer’s.
