Originally from Connecticut, Jim attended UConn for a year and half after graduating from high school in 1980. In 1982, he joined the Air Force and started a 23-year career working on radar systems. His work took him around the world — Germany, Italy, the Caribbean, Columbia, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, South Carolina, and finally, Virginia — he was stationed in all of them. Jim worked hard and eventually made the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.

My Daddy passed away from Alz in 1996..I wrote this in tribute to him the Fathers Day 0f 1996, later that week he passed away. I didnt know at the time I when wrote this, that I would someday have the right venue to share my feelings of what I was going through. I hope this helps someone out there who is living through this nightmare now as a caregiver and son or daughter of your loving Daddy.

My Father lived a good life, which I know from the great stories he would tell, and the songs he would sing. My father had many friends, from all walks of life. He was a Pipefitter by profession, and was a member of the Union. He loved to work in his garage and always kept his hands busy. He was always working on a neighbor’s car, fixing a friend’s boiler or doing some type of job after he retired. He had this big red GMC truck that had one of those horns that went….AAAAWWWWOOOOGGGGAH.
