As part of the operation and customization features of our Website, we gather certain types of information from users, and we would like to explain the types of information we gather, what we do with them, and how to correct or change the information. This Policy does not apply to any other data collected by us offline.
Please read this Policy carefully because by accessing and using our Website you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy, please do not use our Website.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies only to the website located at http://www.usagainstalzheimers.org (the "Website"). As used in this Privacy Policy, "you" or "your" refers to users of the Website and "we" or "us" refers to USAA. This Policy is incorporated by reference into USAA's Terms of Use.
Children under 13 - The Website is not intended for use by persons under the age of 13. We will not knowingly collect information from visitors under the age of 13 and, in the event that we learn that a person under the age of 13 has provided us with personally identifiable information, we will delete such personally identifiable information in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. By submitting information to the Website, you have indicated that you are at least 13 years old.
What We Collect - USAA collects two types of information from users: (1) personal data, such as zip code, email address, and demographic information [INSERT ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, such as mailing address, etc.]; and (2) aggregated data, such as information about traffic patterns (for example, how many users log on a daily basis). USAA may collect and maintain personal information from you when you visit our Website, when you request information from USAA through the Website, when you donate to USAA through the Website, and when you register on the Website.
Aggregated information, such as which pages users visit, is collected through various means. When you visit the Website, USAA may collect and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP Address, cookie information, and/or the web page(s) you visit. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you request a page our servers log your IP address. USAA does not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, so although your session will be logged, your session will remain anonymous to us.
How We Use Your Information and What We Share - Your information is used to improve the content of the Website, to customize the content and/or layout of the Website for each visitor, and if requested, to provide information or services requested by visitors through our Website.
It is not our policy to rent, sell, or share your personal information with nonaffiliated third parties except to provide products or services you have requested or when USAA has your permission. We generally restrict access to nonpublic personal information to USAA and its employees and vendors with a business reason to know this information, such as to provide you with services you have requested. USAA does not sell mailing lists (names and mailing addresses) or e-mail addresses to third parties.
If you choose to make a donation by credit card through the Website, USAA will collect your credit card information. USAA only uses this information to process your transaction and does not retain any credit card information once the donation is processed.
USAA may be required by court order, law enforcement, or judicial authorities to provide information on individual users of this Website to the appropriate governmental authorities. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, illegal activities, or suspected fraud, USAA may voluntarily provide information to appropriate governmental authorities, when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
USAA reserves the right to transfer personal information we have collected about you if USAA is acquired by or merged with another organization, in the case of a sale of all or substantially all of USAA's assets, or in the unlikely event of a bankruptcy.
USAA may also use your personal information to customize the advertising and content you may see on the Website and improve our products and services.
In the event that USAA announces voluntary promotional programs, such as sweepstakes and contests, participation in these promotions may require you to share personal information with USAA. This information may be shared with external third parties for the purpose of the administration, operation, or fulfillment of the promotion. Subscribers who do not wish this information to be disclosed to third parties may decline participation in these optional promotions.
USAA reserves the right to share certain aggregated data with our internal and external clients or service providers in aggregate form for auditing, marketing and other purposes. Because aggregated data is not associated with any particular person, the third parties with whom we share this information will not have access to your personal information.
USAA may also analyze IP addresses of visitors to the Website in the aggregate for purposes including system administration and the gathering of broad demographic information.
