Miller Piggott is a founding member of Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama (ACA) and has served as the Executive Director since 1997. ACA is a local organization helping local families, with a mission to provide services, education, research and advocacy. In addition to her position with ACA, Miller spent over twenty years working for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for Aging and for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). Miller served as the Education Director for the ADRC and was responsible for outreach, education and recruitment for the Center’s research programs. She is serving on Governor Bentley’s Alzheimer’s Task Force. She has been named Professional of the Year by the Alabama Gerontological Society, and was named “Health Care Advocate of the Year”, by the Birmingham Business Journal.
