Laurie Burrows Grad is a cookbook author, television chef, food journalist, and activist/fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. In the humanitarian arena, she is a highly regarded activist for the Alzheimer's Association of Los Angeles. Twenty-one years ago, she created an annual, star-studded fundraising dinner, A Night at Sardi's, and has been the event's chairperson ever since along with her husband Peter Grad. Their work for Alzheimer's has helped to raise over twenty-one million dollars for much-needed research and assistance for those in need. In addition she has served on the newly formed Stem Cell Research Oversight Committee at Cedars Sinai Hospital.
