Janice Wade-Whitehead has been the Executive Director of Alzheimer’s Tennessee, Inc. since 1991. In 1995, she was awarded the “Public Citizen of the Year Award” by both the Knox Area Chapter and the Tennessee State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She was appointed by the Governor in 2007 to the Tennessee Alzheimer’s Disease Task Force where she served as an officer of the taskforce helping to create the first Tennessee State Plan to address Alzheimer’s Disease. She is a leader in state and federal advocacy efforts representing the Alzheimer’s community. She has served on various committees with a national scope regarding public policy and educational initiatives. Janice’s mother had Alzheimer’s disease and she helped to manage her care for over 12 years.
